Wananga

In Polynesian mythology, Wananga is secret, occult knowledge of magic and sorcery.

In New Zealand, a wānanga (also spelt wananga) is a type of publicly-owned tertiary instution. They are not to be confused with universities, which have taken the name whare wānanga.
