USS Henry M Jackson SSBN-
USS Henry M. Jackson (SSBN-730), a Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine, was the only ship of the United States Navy to be named for Senator Henry M. Jackson. The contract to build her was awarded to the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics Corporation in Groton, Connecticut on 6 June 1977 and her keel was laid down on 19 January 1981. She was launched on 15 October 1983 sponsored by Ms. Anna Marie Jackson, and commissioned on 6 October 1984, with Captain R. Tindal in command of the Blue Crew and Captain M.A. Farmer in command of the Gold Crew.
