Sixth Form CollegeIn the English education system, secondary schools begin with Year 7 (age 11). Some secondary schools continue to Year 13 (age 18); others finish at Year 11 (age 16), at which point students transfer to a Sixth Form College (or sometimes to a secondary school which has a Sixth Form). The two years of a Sixth Form College are Years 12 and 13, also known as the Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth. Students at a Sixth Form College typically study for 3 or 4 A-levels. See also: Sixth form
