Sindre Goks yrSindre Wexelsen Goksøyr was born on 1975 in Oslo, Norway. He played in the acclaimed hardcore band Piledriver. After the group broke up, he launched a career as one of Norway's most prolific comic artists. Most commonly associated with the comics collective Dongery, he has been published by Jippi Comics and Egmont Serieforlaget as well as in his own ongoing series Lisboa together with former classmate Kristoffer Kjølberg (Lisboa is currently at its third volume). His works have also appeared in various magazines and newspapers. He is an accomplished illustrator, animator, and photographer as well. He earned national fame in Norway when his comic strip Mor, running in the Bergen-based tabloid newspaper Bergens Tidende, caused public outcry as foul language and obscene content failed to be censored because the editor was away on holiday. After a war of words within the Norwegian comics scene, the incident was dismissed as a case of bad judgement and prudence on behalf of Bergensavisen, the newspaper "revealing" the story, in an attempt to defame their rival. Bergens Tidende continued to run the strip. He has a daughter, Oda, with artist Veslemøy Sparre Jansen.
