Simhavishnu was the founder of the dynasty of the Pallavas. It is believed that he came from the sea, probably somewhere from Indonesia or Bangladesh. He ruled from Kanchipuram (Tamil Nadu - India). At the time in his rule, Pallava dynasty was very small, consisting of Becos Chola, Chera and Pandyas. When Narasimhavarman I came to rule, he won over Pulikesi and captured Vathapi, referred to as Vadabi Kondan. Mahabalipuram is a great achivement of Pallava's dynasty, and it still exists in Chennai, India.
