Shijiazhuang

Shijiazhuang (s.:石家庄/t.:石家莊 Pinyin: Shíjiāzhuāng) is a city just south of Beijing and is the Capital of Hebei Province. Its estimated population in 2004 is around 5 million.

Shijiazhuang is a transportation hub: it is at the intersection point of the Beijing-Guangzhou and Taiyuan-Huanghua railroads and expressways, including the Jingshi Expressway.

Economy

Shijiazhuang is an important industrial city and is the economic center of Hebei. The main industries include cotton textiles, and chemical-related industries.
