- Basketball: The University of South Florida announces that female basketball player Andrea Armstrong will be allowed to play wearing her muslim attires.

- Rugby union: England national team coach Sir Clive Woodward resigns, after having been dissuaded from doing so yesterday. Andy Robinson is named acting coach of England.
