Sabino Arana

Sabino Arana (January 26, 1865 - November 25, 1903), founder of the Basque Nationalist Party. Author of several books and numerous articles arguing in favour of Basque nationalism based on the idea of the Basques as a special, superior, race.

"What does racial purity imply for the Nationalist Agenda? 1. Foreigners can live in the Basque territory only under the supervision of their superiors. Foreigners cannot be naturalized. As to the Spaniards, the General Consul should determine whether they are to be expelled. No immigration will be tolerated in thefirst few years following independence, in order to wipe away the stain of foreign influence. 2.Basque citizenship will only be allowed for those families originally from the Basque region, those who belong to the Basque race, and only with restrictions to those of mixed blood (Basque & foreign). "

Ask anyone familiar with construction and he will tell you that one Basque can do more in one day than three Maketos [Maketos - derogatory term for non-Basque Spaniards]"
