NyaganNyagan is a town in Western Siberia, Russia; near the river Ob, approximately 600 km north-east of Perm. Population 70,100. It was established in 1967 as a forestry centre, now it is principally a centre of the oil and natural gas industries. This city is the birthplace of tennis star, Maria Sharapova (winner of the ladies singles, Wimbledon 2004).
