National parks of the United Kingdom

The United Kingdom has 13 national parks, 11 in England and Wales and 2 in Scotland. The New Forest was announced as the United Kingdom's 14th national park on 28 June 2004, but the formal designation order has not been made as of October 2004. A 15th national park is proposed in the South Downs.

No national parks have been designated in Northern Ireland, but there are moves to establish Northern Ireland's first national park in the Mountains of Mourne.
