Linköping University (LiU) or Linköpings universitet is a state university in Linköping, Sweden, founded in 1969. It has four faculties and twenty departments, many of which teach students from more than one faculty. A number of knowledge centres are also associated with the university. During the 1990s the university also started a campus in Norrköping, Sweden. In 2002 the university had 25,000 students, of who 20,000 study in Linköping and 5,000 study in Norrköping.
