Judy and MaryJudy and Mary are a Japanese pop band known for their noisy but melodic music in the 90's. They formed in 1991 when bassist Onda Yoshihito (恩田快人) met vocalist Isoya Yuki (磯谷有希) in Hakodate, Hokkaido. Later drummer Igarashi Kohta (五十嵐公太) and guitarist Asanuma Takuya (浅沼拓也) were added to round out the group. In 1992 they released their first album Be Ambitious with an accompanying video on an independent label. They were picked up by Sony Records and released their first major label single, Power of Love in 1993. Their first major label album, J.A.M, was released in 1994. With each released they grew in popularity until they became one of the most popular and well-known bands in Japan. In all they released 6 albums, 2 best of albums and a slew of singles to match. Judy and Mary broke up in 2001. Yuki is now enjoying a successful solo career and Takuya plays with his band Robots.
