International Christian UniversityInternational Christian University (国際基督教大学: Kokusai Kirisutokyô Daigaku) is a non-denominational Christian university located in Mitaka, Tokyo, Japan. The university was founded in 1949 and is Japan's oldest and largest American-style university. AcademicsICU offers bachelor's degrees in liberal arts fields, as well as master's and doctoral degrees in education, public administration, comparative culture, and natural sciences. 30% of the faculty comes from overseas (primarily English-speaking countries). ICU houses Asia's Rotary Center for International Studies in Peace and Conflict Resolution. Student bodyAs of 2004, ICU has 2,922 undergraduates and 189 graduate students. 40% are male and 60% female. 95% are Japanese citizens; the remainder come from a broad array of countries on all continents.
