Indonesian Democratic Party - StruggleThe Indonesian Democratic Party - Struggle (PDI-P) is a political party in Indonesia. Its ideology is based on Pancasila. It was formed in 1996 as a split from the Indonesian Democracy Party or PDI, who had attempted to oust Megawati Sukarnoputri. She founded the PDI-P instead, and took most of the membership and support of the PDI with her. She is also the current chairperson of PDI-P. In the 2004 legislative election, PDI-P obtained 18.5% of the total vote, down from the 33.7% it obtained during the 1999 legislative election.[1] (http://www.kpu.go.id/Sejarah/pemilu1999.shtml). In the 2004 presidential election, the party nominated Megawati as the presidential candidate and Hasyim Muzhadi as the vice presidential candidate. id:Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan ms:Parti Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan ja:闘争民主党 Categories: Indonesian political parties |
