The Indonesia national football team is the national team of Indonesia and is controlled by the Football Association of Indonesia. As the Dutch East Indies, they were the first Asian team to particpate in the World Cup, doing so in 1938. But a 6-0 loss to Hungary remains the country's only World Cup match. Indonesia, despite the nation's size and population, is not among the strongest teams of the AFC (perhaps because of popularity of badminton).
