Home

Home is a word that a person identifies with a place they live, spend much of their time, or feel generally comfortable with. While a house is often referred to as a home, and is home to many people, the concept of "home" is broader than a physical dwelling.

Home is usually identified with a comfort or familiarity with one's surroundings. For example, the phrases "make yourself at home" and "make yourself comfortable" are almost identical in meaning. A person may also feel that they are at home in their town or neighborhood. Sometimes people claim a certain establishment is thier "home away from home" when they spend time there. The phrase "home is where the heart is" expresses the sentiment that one should be able to feel at home wherever they are.
