Holly Jones

Holly Jones (September 14, 1992 - May 12, 2003) was a Canadian girl who was kidnapped from her Toronto neighbourhood on May 12, 2003. On May 13, her body was found, in parts inside bags, off the shores of Toronto Island. The case was changed from a kidnapping to a murder case.

DNA evidence led the police to arrest Michael Briere, a software developer who lived in the neighbourhood and had no previous criminal history. Briere confessed to sexually assaulting Holly, killing her, and dismembering her body. He attributed his actions to viewing child pornography. After pleading guilty to a crime he himself described as "cruel, inhuman, and nightmarish", Briere received an automatic life sentence and will not be eligible for parole for 25 years.
