The German National Olympic Committee nominated 453 athletes (254 men, 199 women) for participation in the 2004 Summer Olympics.

Germany does not participate in baseball, basketball, men's football, women's handball, softball, synchronized swimming, taekwondo, women's tennis, men's volleyball, and women's water polo.
