Often the term "Malin Head to Mizen Head" is used when encompassing the entire country/island from north to south. Mizen Head, in West Cork, is popularly described as the "most south-western point in Ireland". The promontory hosts a lighthouse and radio/weather station, now a tourist attraction. ¹ The Republic of Ireland claims Rockall, which, if it is included as part of Ireland, is both the northernmost and westernmost island.
