Erik DemaineErik Demaine, (Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on February 28th, 1981) entered Dalhousie University at the age of 12, and completed his Bachelor's degree when only 14. His PhD, a seminal work in the field of Folding and Unfolding (in Geometry) was completed at the University of Waterloo. This work was awarded the NSERC Doctoral Prize, 2003 (best PhD thesis and research in Canada, 1 of 4 awards). More recently, he has been awarded a MacArthur Fellowship. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
