CMXCMX is a Finnish rock band. They are known for lead singer and bass player A.W. Yrjänä's poetic lyrics of religious imaginery and progressive musical style that combines influences from f.e. Pixies, Helmet and Dead Kennedys. Their own influence on the Finnish music of late nineties and early 21st century is very notable. They are not much known outside their own country (not surprising, considering their lyrics are in Finnish), but Billy Gould of Faith No More named Rautakantele by CMX as his favourite album of 1995.
