Acharonim

In hebrew, literally "the later ones". In jewish law and history, signifies the rabbis living from roughly the 16th century to the present, as opposed to "rishonim" - "the first ones", signifying those living betweent he 11th and the 15th century. as jewish law is hirachic according to presedence, the achronim have less power than the rishonim do.
