History

Dr.R.M.Alagappa Chettiar founded Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology (ACCET), one of the pioneering institutions in the state of Tamil Nadu, India on 21-7-1952. Being an educationist, he started this institution with an excellent faculty and the best of infrastructure facilities. The college was taken over by the Government of Tamilnadu in July 1966 from Alagappa Chettiar Educational Trust. From then on this college came under the control of DOTE, TAMILNADU and is now declared as syndicate of Anna University. The college celebrated its Golden Jubilee in the academic year 2001-2002. Right from its day of inception, the College, under the guidance of far sighted principals and faculty members together with the active support from the government has been at the prime of technical excellence striving for Industry, Integrity and Enterprise.
