Accent

  • Accent is a programming language.
  • In poetry, the accent is the stressed portion of a word.
  • In linguistics, accent is a way of pronouncing words common to a certain region. It can also refer to the stress on a certain syllable.
  • In music, an accent is one of a few specific types of dynamic, usually written above a note, for example (^) or (>), that instructs the musician to play the note underneath with greater force than usual. It is also the more general concept which includes agogic (length), pitch, and dynamic accents.
