A S F GowAndrew Sydenham Farrar Gow (1886-1979) was a classical scholar at Cambridge University specializing in poetry. He was primarily associated with Trinity College, being a fellow of it from 1911 on, interrupted only by a period as Assistant Master of Eton College, 1914-1925. He was the Brereton Reader in Classics from 1947 to 1951. Notable work includes editions of Theocritus, Machon, and the Greek Anthology. He was closely associated with A. E. Housman. Works
