"Õ", or "õ", is a spoken vowel of the Portuguese language, where it stands for an accented nasalized [o]. It is not an actual letter of the alphabet, but a composition of the letter "O" and the diacritic mark tilde. "Õ", or "õ", is also a vowel and a letter in the Estonian alphabet and formerly in the Hungarian alphabet when used on the web to stand for the "O" with double acute accent "Ő", or "ő". Since the letter with the correct diacritical mark has become available for the hungarian [ø:], the o with the tilde is seen less and less, though it is still in use. See also
